Many states have ignition interlock penalty for first-time DUI

More measures have been taken to prevent drunk driving in the United States. As of April 11, 26 states have passed laws that require all individuals who are convicted of DUI for the first time to install ignition interlock devices in their vehicles. South Carolina is one of several states that only requires the device under certain circumstances.

Man charged after alleged hit-and-run accident

South Carolina police took a 52-year-old man into custody on April 5 after he allegedly struck a parked vehicle outside an Anderson County middle school and then attempted to flee the scene. A school resource officer who had witnessed the crash is said to have given chase and apprehended the man. The man is facing a raft of charges including failure to come to a stop when called to do so by police.
