34 face charges in South Carolina drug case

A Sept. 23 round-up of alleged drug offenders led to 51 warrants being executed and 34 individuals being taken into custody. While the primary focus of the effort involved drug charges, additional violations included driving under suspension as well as charges in connection with sex offender registration.

Fatal crash leaves driver facing felony DUI charges

According to the South Carolina Highway Patrol, a married couple died and five additional people were injured in an accident in Seneca on Sept. 6 in which alcohol is believed to be a factor. Following the crash, a 52-year-old Westminster man was charged with two counts of felony driving under the influence resulting in death.

The consequences of an underage drinking and driving conviction

If a South Carolina resident or tourist visiting our state who is under the age of 21 is caught drinking by authorities, he or she could be charged with a crime. If the individual also happens to be driving, the penalties for underage drinking and driving are even more severe.
