Man facing drug charges, grew pot for ailing wife

A man from South Carolina is facing drug charges in connection with obtaining marijuana for his sick wife. The man, who could spend years in prison for the drug trafficking accusations, was found with 137 marijuana plants growing in his yard. The 66-year-old man said he wanted to make his wife as comfortable as possible during her painful illness.

Dash cam footage released in March DUI case

After her March 16 arraignment, a South Carolina woman accused of drunk driving will finally be permitted to defend her actions by using a video tape of the incident. The 47-year-old defendant is facing charges for felony DUI with great bodily injury, according to local authorities. She was released from custody just two days after intake when she posted a $5,000 bond.

Drunk driving laws still unclear in South Carolina

Changes in South Carolina drunk driving laws may have removed some limiting requirements, but the alterations are unlikely to help officials attempting to secure DUI convictions. The state Supreme Court decided on May 29 that officers are not required to video DUI suspects after they refuse to take a breath test.
