A new state law that prohibited speeding tickets based on traffic cameras alone sparked the lawsuit. In addition, the new law requires officers to deliver speeding tickets to accused drivers by hand. After the passage of the law, traffic citations against three drivers in South Carolina were dismissed.

South Carolina woman faces first DUI charge

According to arresting officers, they observed the woman driving erratically and making multiple "radical" driving corrections. One of the corrections, according to an officer, nearly struck a patrolman that was standing on the side of the road.
